Companion Cubes!

Here’s something a little different: a video How-To. It’s not very in-depth, but shows off exactly what I’m talking about:

Sorry for the crappy quality, but the video thumbnail is awesome! If you’re still not sure how to get started, here’s a quick step by step:

1. Find

Find a cool character to print out on There are plenty to choose from: video game stars, comic book heroes, and all sorts of geeky characters to choose from.

2. Print

Print off your favorite design. Make sure if the design is two pages that your printer settings don’t resize the pages in a weird way.

3. Cut

Use scissors or an exacto knife to cut out all the shapes. Be very careful during this part, but make sure you’re thorough. There are plenty of little slots you’ll have to cut out, so an exacto knife will be almost a necessity.

4. Fold

Carefully fold along all the lines and start assembling the cubes. No tape is required for this, but it might help everything stay together.

Once you’ve put it all together, you get a pretty sweet decoration for your desk to show off how huge of a nerd you really are. Happy crafting!

On a side note: what in the world should we call Warptubes fans? Warpies sounds too much like a disease. Any ideas?

I laughed at the Mark Hamill line… apparently I’m a little dork for a storm trooper.
